Happy Holidays! It is now that time of the year to pop in a Hallmark movie and relax with some fuzzy socks by a fireplace. This has always been my favorite season and I absolutely love all of the things associated with it! Here are some of my favorite things to do to prepare for the holiday season.
The first thing I love to do is decorate! The best thing to do is setting up the Christmas tree and seeing all of the beautiful lights with the star to top it all off. Back home, we also decorate our outdoor evergreen trees with lights. Our neighbor said it looks like an airplane landing, but I absolutely love it! I think any sort of lights just put you in the spirit of the holidays. If your stuck in a dorm room, don’t fret! Command strips are amazing and will allow you to hang up any kind of holiday decorations to get you in the mood for the holidays!
The second thing that is awesome to do is sit down and watch Christmas movies! How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Story, or Christmas Vacation will all bring out the spirit of the holidays. My best advice is to wrap up in a cozy blanket with fuzzy blankets and some hot chocolate. 25 Days of Christmas on Freeform is also a great option if you happen to be bored and turn on the television.
Finally, Christmas songs is a must! Whether you are a fan or not, Christmas music will always find its way to your ears. My favorite is when restaurants and shopping stores are playing Christmas music because it makes me so happy! I always wait until after Thanksgiving to start playing Christmas music but once I start, I keep up my Spotify playlist full of songs that put you in the holiday mood!
Take these three ideas and put your own twist on them! The holidays are a time for family and fun. Enjoy the snow (or not) and your own Holiday Season. So, go decorate your room, pump up the Christmas jams, and turn on those classic Christmas movies.
