2019 Wintzell's Oyster Eating Contest

Wintzell’s Oyster House, located in downtown Mobile, Ala., hosted the Class of 2019 for their annual Oyster Eating Contest  on Monday, June 24 during the 62nd Annual Distinguished Young Women National Finals. Participants lines the historic oyster bar in hopes of eating as many of Wintzell’s famous fresh oysters as they could in just five minutes. Madison Dochety, Distinguished Young Woman of Tennessee for 2019, championed the event with a final count of 39 oysters.

Preceding the contest, a portrait of Aaryan Morrison, Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2018, was officially unveiled. The portrait will be displayed on the wall of Wintzell’s Oyster House along with portraits of each National Representative from over the years. Wintzell’s has been a sponsor of Distinguished Young Women for many years and works to make our mission possible.
