Distinguished Young Women of Autauga County

Our 2015 Distinguished Young Woman of Autauga County is Braidyn Lazenby.

Welcome to Distinguished Young Women of Autauga County, an official local preliminary of the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program. Our program awards college scholarships to young women who have distinguished themselves at school and in their communities. It is our goal to provide the Distinguished Young Women experience to every eligible young woman in our region. Those who participate in Distinguished Young Women programs develop interview skills, self-confidence, and other life skills that lead to future success.

The competition for scholarships begins here, at the local level, in towns and cities like yours. Contestants from throughout our region come to Prattville, Alabama, to appear before five judges. Winners advance to state competition, at Distinguished Young Women of Alabama. Our state winner then competes in the annual National Finals competition in Mobile, Alabama.

Contestants from all 50 states will travel to the historic port city of Mobile, Alabama, for the 58th Annual Distinguished Young Women National Finals, June 25-27, 2015. They will spend two weeks getting to know outstanding girls from across the country, experiencing the fun and beauty of the area, enjoying the hospitality of local and national sponsors, and preparing for the National Finals competition. All State winners will compete for a share of at least $150,000 in cash scholarships.
