Describe your single-most favorite moment from your Distinguished Young Women experience.

Before the first preliminaries, purple and orange group were all getting ready in the dressing room. One of the girls asked if we would all like to pray before the show began. Everyone joined in the circle of prayer, crossing our arms and holding each other’s hands for a quiet moment. To me, sharing a prayer is something you do with someone you are close with. It’s lifting your mind and soul up to God. Being able to do that with 24 other girls I was able to become close with over the course of just 2 weeks was an amazing moment for me to experience and something I’ll never forget.

I was thrilled to hear an Alaskan representative won the title of Distinguished Young Woman for 2015! I would love to have the website post a video of you doing your Irish Jig! You are so smart to have chosen the University of Alabama since you are our DYW of 2015! You are close to DYW Headquarters that way and all the events you are asked to attend. I enjoyed reading your post.
