Plan ahead OR procrastinate? Procrastinate, but I’m trying to do better. It’s a work in progress.
Paper OR plastic? Plastic
Glass half-full OR glass half-empty? Glass half-full!! It’s so much better to be positive, and no one wants to be around a half-empty cup.
Introvert OR extrovert? Extrovert, making friends is fun!
Cats OR Dogs? I’m deathly allergic to cats and mildly allergic to dogs so preferably, a fish.
Morning person OR night person? Night person. I require at least 3 alarms in the morning.
What is your most embarrassing moment? My freshman year, I was performing a ballet dance en pointe at my high school dance concert with only 3 other people on the stage, and I fell flat on my face! I heard the entire audience gasp. It was awful. I later found out the videographer for the show, a college guy, put it on his big screen at his house and showed all his friends.
What would we find in your refrigerator right now? Carrot sticks, cheese, milk, yogurt, and a lot of empty space.
What is the one thing you wish someone had told you about college life that you had to find out on your own? There is no one making sure you eat well, exercise, sleep enough, clean your room, etc. You are entirely in charge of yourself, and you will have whatever kind of lifestyle you give yourself. There is no one else to blame for anything you do or don’t do! It’s a huge adjustment, and everything in your life changes all at once. Give yourself time to adjust, but realize that the habits you form now will be hard to break. So make sure they’re good ones!
What is one goal you have set for yourself and achieved? What is one goal that still remains to be achieved? One goal I have set and achieved is getting good grades and testing well to get into Brigham Young University. One goal that remains to be achieved is getting into graduate school and becoming a marriage counselor.
Sum yourself up in three words. Friendly, positive, and determined
Describe your single-most favorite moment from your Distinguished Young Women experience. My favorite thing that has come out of my association with Distinguished Young Women is the friendships I have made. My first semester at college (hundreds of miles away from home) has been wonderful, largely due to the fact that I have three Distinguished sisters here with me. Brianna Bracey- Utah, Natalie Stoker- Idaho, and Katelyn Pyfer- Colorado are some of my very best friends and I know my college experience would not be as fun without them here with me.
