As finals are approaching, I am definitely feeling the stress of college life. However, one thing I always remember is that God would never give me something that I can’t handle. I believe this closely relates to the true “reason for the season” in the month of December.
I am ready for Christmas break for a variety of reasons. I always love spending time with friends and family, eating delicious food, and of course opening Christmas presents! There is never a dull moment when it comes to Christmas at the Moore household. We always have lots of laughs and tell stories of Christmases over the years.
One of the Christmas memories that my family often discusses is actually my birthday. I was born on Christmas Eve, so the following Christmas was a very special day for my family. My parents always said I was the best present they ever received. My grandparents always comment that I was delivered and brought to my parents in a Christmas stocking. We still have this stocking as a keepsake, and I am amazed that I was small enough to fit inside of it!
People often ask, “Do you like having your birthday so close to Christmas?” I am always quick to answer that I absolutely love it. My family makes an effort to celebrate my birthday on Christmas Eve and save the Christmas festivities for Christmas Day.
I am so thankful for such a wonderful family that loves me unconditionally. I am looking forward to a month long Christmas break filled with all of my favorites. Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year because I get to spend it with those that I love most.
